Inkberrow Environmental Group
The Inkberrow Environment Group was formed in November 2023 to look at enhancing, improving and protecting the environment in and around Inkberrow. Our aim is to create a group which can share and implement projects which benefit the natural environment and to network with other local groups, as well as national organisations.
During 2024 we were involved with planting trees, litter picking and setting up bat walks in the village. We also applied to Heart of England for local varieties of fruit trees to be planted in a corner of the playing fields by the Village Hall.
Below is a picture of some of our members working with Heart of England in January 2025 to plant the five fruit trees near the tennis courts (two apple, two pear and one plum, all local Worcestershire varieties).
We meet on the second Thursday of the month at the village hall and advertise in What’s On. We have a Facebook and WhatsApp group. Please use the contact email below if you would like to join these groups.
For the forthcoming year (2025) we are planning to plant planters around the village as well as continue to organise walks that are informative and free. These will include a visit to wildflower meadows, a Butterfly Walk and a Fungi Walk. Please look out for these events in What’s On, and on the Village Noticeboard outside the shop.
We would welcome new ideas and members young and old. We are a friendly informal group. You can contact us on contactieg23@gmail.com .
