Branch Unplanned Closure

Pepper Street, Inkberrow, Worcester, WR7 4EJ

We are writing to inform you that, regrettably, following the resignation of the postmaster the above branch will be closing on Friday 24 January 2025 at 13:00.

I would like to assure you that we are currently investigating the options available which will enable us to reinstate a Post Office service to the local community. In exploring this, it is important that any future service is sustainable for the person operating the service, and for Post Office Limited.

If you have any questions you would like to raise about this matter, please write to me via the National Consultation Team at the address shown at the end of the letter. Please note that your comments will not be kept confidential unless you expressly ask us to do so by clearly marking them “In Confidence”.

Any future changes to service provision would be handled in line with our Principles of Community Engagement. An extract relating to Notification is available at the end of this letter.

We will display posters in the branch to inform customers.

If you are a local representative, it would be helpful if you could share this information through your social media channels and with any local groups or organisations that you know within the community, for example on noticeboards, local charities and in GP surgeries, to help our customers and your constituents understand what is happening to the Post Office in the local community. If you would like a supply of posters, please let us know.

We apologise for the inconvenience the unplanned closure may cause. We hope that our customers will continue to use Post Office services and details of alternative Post Office branches in the area are shown at the end of this letter.

Infrastructure planning in Worcestershire

Have your say on planning in Worcestershire?
The planning consultation database for the county is being refreshed and Worcestershire County Council would like to invite residents and businesses to register so that they can have their say on planning matters.
The Council plays a significant planning role across the whole of Worcestershire including policies and strategies about minerals and waste and major infrastructure projects like new railway stations and bridges.
Councillor Marc Bayliss, Worcestershire County Councillor with Responsibility for Economy Infrastructure and Skills, said:
“Community engagement plays a vital role in the way we make our plans, and I cordially invite residents and businesses to register to participate and influence this process. Our work includes developing important strategies relating to ecology and biodiversity that make Worcestershire distinct and special, as well as planning for infrastructure such as schools and highway projects.

Over the weekend of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Inkberrow have a number of events arranged in the Marquee on the Village Green.

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee plan of events

INKBERROW FIRST SCHOOL TO BECOME A PRIMARY SCHOOL – FROM SEPT 2019

We are delighted to announce that as from Sept 2019, Inkberrow First School with be able to offer places to Year Five Pupils, and Year Six from 2020.

The Regional Schools’ Commissioner and Head Teachers’ Board granted permission for the age range change in December following a rigorous investigation and discussions with stakeholders. Children will be able, in the future, to transfer directly to Pershore High School at the start of Year Seven (Key stage three).

We look forward at Inkberrow to extending our outstanding educational provision to include Upper Key Stage Two and are excited about this new opportunity.

REFRESH OF THE INKBERROW PLAY AREA – DEC 2017

Inkberrow Parish Council have taken the decision to support the application made to apply for funding from the new homes bonus scheme to refresh the Inkberrow Play Area. 

The total proposed project cost is £48,000 with the funding coming from The Parish Council, Section 106 monies, and other funding streams.
£16000 is asked for from NHB. Project start in 2018.

THE BALANCE OF MONIES AVAILABLE IN THE NHB SCHEME FOR INKBERROW CURRENTLY STANDS AT £17,910.

Should any resident of Inkberrow have any objections to this proposal or any suggestions as to how they would prefer any remaining money from the NHB Scheme to be spent please contact the Clerk, 01527 821442 or ink_pc@btinternet.com.

Parish Council meetings are held monthly (the third Wednesday in every month except December) and members of the Public are welcome to attend.

REPAIR FOR THE MILLENNIUM GREEN BOARDWALK – JAN 2017

Inkberrow Parish Council have taken the decision to support the application made by Inkberrow Millennium Green Trust to apply for funding from the new homes bonus scheme to repair the boardwalk in the Millennium Green. 

The Boardwalk is required to be made safe for the inhabitants of the village and visitors. Total project cost is £20,000 with the main source of funding coming from Tesco Bags of Life Scheme.   £1000 is asked for from NHB.
Project start June 2017.

NEW KITCHEN FOR VILLAGE HALL – NOV 2016

INKBERROW PARISH COUNCIL HAVE TAKEN THE DECISION TO SUPPORT THE APPLICATION MADE BY THE INKBERROW COMMUNITY COUNCIL TO APPLY FOR FUNDING FROM THE NEW HOMES BONUS SCHEME TO ENABLE THE INSTALLATION OF A NEW KITCHEN IN THE VILLAGE HALL.   THE MONEY AVAILABLE IN THE NHB SCHEME FOR INKBERROW CURRENTLY STANDS AT £19,936.

THE COST OF INSTALLATION IS £11,911 AND THE AMOUNT APPLIED FOR FROM THE NEW HOMES BONUS SCHEME IS £10,911 WITH THE BALANCE PROVIDED BY THE COMMUNITY COUNCIL.

THE PRESENT KITCHEN IS NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE AND IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT THE PROPOSAL WILL NOT ONLY IMPROVE THE AMENITY FOR VILLAGERS USING THE HALL BUT WILL IMPROVE BOOKINGS WHICH HAVE RECENTLY FALLEN.
