The Queens Platinum Jubilee Events - Thursday - Lighting of the Beacon

Local councils have been asked to play a part in the Queen's Platinum Jubilee by lighting beacons on 2 June 2022.
More than 1,500 beacons will be lit across the country to mark the 70th anniversary of the Queen's coronation.
Beacons were lit to celebrate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee in 1897, and then again to celebrate Queen Elizabeth's Silver, Golden and Diamond Jubilees, and in 2016 to celebrate her 90th birthday.
Meeting on the Village Green around 9:00 pm
walk up Stonepit Lane to the Folly where the beacon will be lit at 9.40pm
